A chopping board is a flat and hard plate shaped material used for cutting, slicing, and chopping food. It is usually placed on the kitchen countertop for chefs to use knives to process various ingredients.
Material of cutting board
There are various types of materials for cutting boards, mainly including the following:
1. Wooden cutting boards: Common wooden cutting boards include oak, olive, bamboo, etc. Wooden cutting boards are relatively soft, blade friendly, and have a certain degree of antibacterial properties. However, wooden cutting boards require special attention to cleaning and maintenance to prevent bacterial growth.
2. Plastic cutting boards: Plastic cutting boards are usually lightweight, easy to clean, and relatively inexpensive. However, plastic cutting boards are prone to scratches and may develop knife marks after prolonged use, increasing the likelihood of bacterial growth.
3. Composite cutting board: Composite cutting boards are made by mixing different types of materials, which not only retains the texture of wooden cutting boards, but also has the easy cleaning ability of plastic cutting boards. This type of cutting board has a longer service life and can also protect both the blade and the cutting board.
